Given To Fly is a band that draws inspiration and energy from Rock, Pop and Soul music. You know all those songs that bring you back to a certain time and moment in your life? Those are the songs we play. Joe, Mike, Louie and Van are the architects of musical fusion that will take your party to new heights. We play music that will make you dance and vibe at any event.
JOE BUCHWALD
– Lead Vocals & GUITAR
Born in San Francisco, raised in San Jose. Joe began playing guitar to Pearl Jam albums and learning to sing by listening to Chris Cornell. Some of Joe’s favorite artists include: Prince, Marvin Gaye, John Mayer and Cory Wong.

Van KOUZOuJIAN
– KEYBOARD & VOCALS
East coast roots, west coast flare, Van has been playing in bands since the age of ten. With an eclectic range including classical, jazz, rock, funk, and soul, Van’s influences include Billy Preston, Stevie Wonder, Joey de Francesco, and Chopin.
MIKE RASCHE
– BASS GUITAR & VOCALS
Mike moved to the Bay Area from the east coast in 2000 and started playing music with Joe soon after. His influences include the Beatles, Kings of Convenience, and Fleet Foxes.

LOUIE FLORES JR.
– DRUMS & VOCALS
Born and raised in San Jose Ca, holds a B.A in music from Cal State University East Bay. His music training and experiences have included performance tours and concerts throughout west coast North America, Mexico and Havana Cuba performing various styles of music. Besides performing, Louie is a public school teacher directing elementary and middle school band programs in the Eastside of San Jose.
